What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Director of New Business Development to drive the development of client business across the agency to meet the increasing demand for productive and transformative relationships that deliver both financial and societal gain. This person will identify, qualify, pursue and win strategic and tactical new business, and create a smooth integration for our new clients into the agency.

Strategically You Will

  • Help to define and develop an existing new business strategy tailored to the needs and vision of the agency
  • Help to codify our growth proposition, with a focus on continuing to evolve our client engagements from project to long-term strategic engagements
  • Help to consider how we also pivot marketing briefs into product/service or business transformation opportunities
  • Help to productize our portfolio of past work
  • Develop and nurture partnership opportunities that further our business efforts and the goals of our clientele

Operationally You Will

  • Help to define, organize and automate new business process and outreach (managing all platform tools e.g Salesforce, Asana, Mailchimp, Linkedin etc)
  • Qualitatively identify growth opportunities and proactively initiate new client conversations
  • Quantitatively size and prioritize opportunities, with a focus on right fit and scale for Matter Unlimited
  • Handle approaches and follow up on new business leads
  • Help lead creds/pitch presentations and complete RFP/RFIs
  • Contribute to presentations and other marketing materials
  • Coordinate Matter team members within and cross-office to develop client proposals
  • Develop and maintain a client and prospect database (Salesforce)
  • Manage and grow our new business development team, nurturing and developing junior talent
  • Conduct targeted marketing, outbound activities and intermediary engagement
  • Leverage existing partnerships and look to develop new ones
  • Help lead internal new business meetings and agency updates to communicate our approach and thinking

Personally You Will

  • Leverage an understanding of digital and offline marketing and a network within that sector to drive end-end new business activity
  • Quickly grasp clients’ motivations and needs, and establish a potential response
  • Understand what is buyable for clients at the point they’re at in the journey
  • Already have and/ or develop a deep understanding of and expertise in the impact space
  • Understand the practicalities of resourcing, concepting, production and delivery
  • Be strategic and energetic to quickly build strong relationships with clients and Matter teams
  • Become versed in agency & office history, case studies and business/strategic direction
  • Be an ambassador for Matter Unlimited and our values with clients and partners
