When The Clinton Global Initiative was looking to expand the reach of its events and offerings, they turned to Matter Unlimited. Their vision was ambitious: deepen relationships with annual meeting attendees, provide greater storytelling and ideas around the foundation’s impact and become more accessible to a global audience with an online destination. To meet the need, we created the content strategy and roll-out plan for an always-on hub that would evolve the organization beyond annual gatherings and created an Emmy nominated virtual reality film that transported viewers to East Africa to feel the impact of CGI up close
Find a new and creative way to communicate the tangible impact of CGI commitments on an emotional level to the attendees of its annual meeting and beyond.
We created a new online platform, associated content, and social strategy that invited a broader audience to engage with The Clinton Global Initiative commitments. By having a 365-day content strategy we were inviting new audiences to interact and be empowered change-makers.
Inside Impact VR: East Africa
Inside Impact: East Africa is a virtual reality film we created to take viewers on a journey with President Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and the Clinton Global Initiative for an unforgettable first-hand look at CGI commitments in Kenya and Tanzania.
We also leveraged the power of virtual reality to create a film that enabled viewers to experience the impact of CGI commitments first hand. Viewers were greeted by President Clinton at his desk and then taken on a journey through East Africa.
The film premiered as an activation for the CGI Annual Meeting in 2015 and was made available on Facebook 360 and YouTube 360 as well as on the Oculus Platform. The VR film was shared widely across digital channels with a high volume of earned media pick up and won awards at various international film and advertising festivals including an Emmy nomination in 2016.
