Rob HolzerFounder & CEO
Rob is a recognized visionary in the marketing world with over 20 years leading agencies. In 2011 he founded Matter Unlimited to help build mission-driven organizations by leveraging the power of advertising, marketing and creative storytelling. Under Rob’s leadership, Matter Unlimited helped define the Purpose Economy and over the past ten years has created award-winning work for clients.
Rob is a founding member of The Civic Nation Creative Alliance, created by the White House under President Obama, and now enduring with President Biden, to connect key White House initiatives to the country’s top agencies and talent.
Rob serves as an industry expert, having the honor of speaking at global events such as the Cannes Lions Festival, SXSW, the United Nations Media for Social Impact Summit, Harvard Social Enterprise conference, Sustainable Brands conference, PopTech, and the Social Innovation Summit among others. Rob volunteers his time as a mentor for global entrepreneurial non-profit Endeavor.org as well as the Human Lending Library.
Prior to founding Matter Unlimited, Rob was Founder and CEO of the integrated agency Syrup which he created in 1998. Syrup was well known for their groundbreaking work for Puma, handling their 2010 global World Cup campaign, and for GE’s trailblazing “Ecomagination” campaign. In 2007, he successfully navigated Syrup through their acquisition by LBi (now Digitas/LBi, part of Publicis).
Alexandra GordonMANAGING PARTNER
Alexandra has over 15 years of experience in the advertising industry. In her first gig, at a boutique digital firm in Sydney, Australia, she was introduced to the social impact world working with organizations like Greenpeace and Scouts Australia. From there, she rose in some of the most esteemed creative agency networks including M&C Saatchi and DDB. Her experience covers a diverse range of categories from telco to tourism. In New York, she was responsible for leading numerous integrated campaigns for brands within the Marriott International portfolio and their rewards program, bringing a highly strategic and results-focused approach.
For the last six years, she has led award winning work at Matter Unlimited, growing the agency and rising to become Partner. Working with some of the most well-renowned and respected global foundations and brands she has delivered transformative strategies and creative solutions. Her clients have included The Obama Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation and Merck for Mothers.
Alexandra is on the board of the 49% a media company using women’s storytelling to advocate for sustainable change, she has spoken at the UN on the role of storytelling in the fight to end maternal mortality and is a proud Big Sister as part of the NYC BBBS program.
Isis DallisManaging Partner
A 20-year veteran of brand strategy, organizational leadership and strategic planning, Isis has spent her career at the crossroads of brand insights, research, culture, and public service, applying her skill toward creating a better, more purpose-driven world for people and the brands they love. As Managing Director at Matter Unlimited, Isis oversees all West Coast client partnerships and brings expertise, innovative thinking and a unique perspective to bear, leveraging her experience from a variety of large advertising agencies, well-known consumer brands, tech-startups, and her own non-profit.
During her tenure at Matter Unlimited, Isis has led impact strategy and storytelling initiatives across health equity, racial justice, education equity and climate issue areas for category leading clients such as Rhia Ventures, Alive Ventures, Coursera, Imaginable Futures, Liberty Hill Foundation, Headstrong Project, and the California Endowment.
Prior to joining Matter Unlimited, Isis held senior level positions at a host of acclaimed agencies. Most recently as President of independent branding and technology studio Bukwild, functioning as a key leader in guiding the business strategy and company culture. Prior to Bukwild, Isis worked for Ogilvy and the Mering Agency where her work ranged across strategy and account leadership roles in brand development, omni channel campaigns and digital experiences for the likes of The Walt Disney Company, Paramount Studios, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Fitbit, Openpath, US Soccer Federation, CLIF Bar, Luna, Krave, Del Monte, King Arthur Baking Co., Yonder, DoorDash, Pandora, Nomadic VR, Infotech, Stikwood and Planned Parenthood.
In 2011, Isis co-founded and led Camellia Network (later acquired by Youth Villages), a national social enterprise with a mission to use the power of technology to connect every youth aging out of the foster care system to the resources, support networks, and opportunities they need to thrive in adulthood. For her efforts and the organization’s achievements, Dallis was nominated as a 2014 CNN Hero.
Frank William Miller, Jr.Design Director
Frank has over 15 years of design and art direction experience in both corporate and entertainment sectors. He served as the Digital Brand Manager and Art Director at HOT 97 the #1 Hip Hop and R&B radio station in New York, managing the station’s visual presence online on the street, as well as their massive annual summer concert Summer Jam, as an Online Producer for Rockstar Games working on record setting titles such as Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto 5, as the Art Director at Italian Wine Merchants in New York City’s Union Square, and recently as a Marketing Designer for Complex Magazine’s west coast office.
He’s balanced that time working on passion projects with music creatives such as A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots, special projects for apparel brands such as Nike and 10.Deep, and educational equity and non-profits such as University Beyond Bars through which he’s taught a volunteer intro to graphic design course at the largest state prison in Washington to prisoners furthering their education.
MJ DeeryCreative Director, Story
For more than 20 years, MJ has been helping brands establish who they are and how they sound, from old guards such as Gap, Inc. and Alaska Airlines to scrappy start-ups in tech and fashion. MJ finds inspiration at the intersection of brand insight and human truth.
MJ comes to Matter having pioneered the brand purpose practice at San Francisco independent ad agency, Duncan Channon. There she worked with clients developing social purpose platforms true to their core values and their internal workforces. She helped lead award-winning work for The California Department of Public Health, educating the public on the tobacco industry’s ruthless targeting of kids, the Black community, and members of LGBTQ+. She also spearheaded the agency’s 2020 pro bono work with an integrated vote-by-mail campaign to fight voter suppression in the pandemic. Not only did the campaign win two Clios, it drove a more diverse, empowered electorate, and a socially-oriented governmental body up and down the ticket.
As Matter’s Creative Director, Story, MJ is responsible for crafting and stewarding brand voice and narrative for east and west coast clients.
Ella Saunders CrivelloDirector of Client Partnerships
As Matter Unlimited’s Director of Client Partnerships, Ella brings 13 years of experience leading social impact strategy, public-private partnerships and startup innovation. Her career began in the nonprofit sector working with charity: water and Clinton Global Initiative on sponsorships and strategic events.
At TED, she launched, scaled and ultimately ran the highest revenue generating program for the nonprofit: The TED Institute. Leading partnerships with Fortune 100s such as IBM, State Street, UPS and BCG, the program developed a digital marketing suite output of TED talk content from curated conferences across 5 continents and short film and animated campaign advertising.
Prior to joining Matter, Ella also held senior positions leading partnership and impact programs in the emerging technology and venture capital industry. She worked directly with founders across a range of tech products including Blockchain, AR/VR, EdTech, to help them position and secure investment opportunities with corporate partners such as Mastercard, Microsoft, GE and more. She also led strategy to ensure they were building diverse and inclusive products and workforces from day one. As employee #11 at the Fintech, Summer, she was Head of Social Impact working to help close the deeply inequitable racial and wealth gaps perpetuated by the student debt crisis and exacerbated by COVID-19’s economic depression.
Her work amplifying financial inclusion for female, BIPOC and/or unemployed social entrepreneurs, teachers, nurses and public servants remains a passion, as she consistently mentors young women to break the intergenerational poverty cycle and build wealth of their own. Ella is a proud member of the Emerging Leaders Network at the New York Women’s Foundation.
Seth ZalkinPartner, Strategic Advisor
Seth provides strategic and financial advice to Matter, drawing on his deep experience advising some of the world’s leading businesses and brands on mergers, acquisitions, sales and capital raises. Seth has also served as CEO of, and successfully sold, venture-backed food and beverage, technology and media companies to both public and private companies and has been widely quoted in publications such as the New York Times, Forbes, Inc. Magazine and Venture Equity Latin America.
Seth began his professional career as a corporate attorney with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison where he executed mergers and acquisitions and negotiated private equity transactions for clients such as the New York Yankees, Warner Music, Soros Fund Management, Sirius Satellite Radio, the New Jersey Nets and Playtex Products. Prior to working at Paul, Weiss, Seth was recruited by American Management Systems to help build a strategic consulting practice. Seth serves on numerous corporate boards and was admitted to the New York bar. Additionally, Seth serves on the board of directors of Developing Minds Foundation, a foundation that builds schools and supports education programs in communities affected by violence and poverty in North and South America. Seth received a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania School of Law and a B.A. from Duke University with honors.

We have also been honored by the United Nations, with our CEO receiving the UN Media for Social Impact Award, as well as being asked to be a founding member of the Creative Alliance at The White House by President Obama.
Most recently, Matter was honored as one of the nine international agencies selected to the World’s Leading Independent Agency List by Campaign Magazine.
